Pen & ink drawing, photography
and a combination of the two

I have been producing pen and ink drawings and shooting and processing my own photographs since my teenage years.
A year or two ago it occurred to me that I could use computer software to combine the two. At first I attempted to combine photos digitally into surreal photomontages, such as a five hundred metre-high swan, bottom up, nibbling things from the sea floor off the coast at Sidmouth. Later on I processed my photos and drawings by experimenting with software to produce abstract forms and textures.

More recently I have produced pen and ink drawings of landscapes, sheep, frogs leaping for the moon, dragons terrorising seaside resorts, amongst other things, which I have scanned to use as outlines and then added colour and depth by the application of my photo-derived patterns and textures.
